The Seals and Sealing Network operates under the Fur Institute of Canada, a national non-profit organization whose membership includes a cross-section of sealing-related interests, from sealers in Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador and Nova Scotia, to trades people, Inuit, animal welfare experts, and Provincial / Territorial Government managers. The Network is committed to promoting sustainable and wise use principles in seal hunting, and to communicating a fair and accurate perspective on the topic.

Our priorities include:

Roundtable Work: Acting as a “round table” for coordinating and implementing solutions to issues of concern in the Canadian sealing community

Networking: Integrating with other groups who promote similar principles for people, animals and the [marine] environment, i.e. conservation through sustainable use, and animal welfare

Communications: Raising the profile of our unique membership to be recognized for Who we are / What we promote

If you support the SSN and its members in any of our causes, please donate now to help us.
