To Whom It May Concern:
The annual seal hunt is very important to me because I make my living at a seal tannery as a millwright.
My wife and children are of Inuit descent from Labrador. In their heritage there are lots of clothing, food, tools and oil acquired from seals in the harsh condition of the North. My Mother in law was known for her skill in Labrador for making seal skin boots as a young woman.
We run a B&B where we offer our guests a meal of seal meat which they enjoy very much. Crafts are also made at our B&B out of seal skin and people come just to buy the mitts, hats and slippers.
Seal hunting is part of being Canadian. It is part of Canada… always was. Why should we stop doing what helped us get to where we are today... seal hunting.
